Camp Fire USA is one of the nation's leading not-for-profit youth development organizations. Camp Fire USA, with national headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., provides all-inclusive, coeducational programs in hundreds of communities across the United States. Founded in 1910, Camp Fire's outcome-based programs include youth leadership, self-reliance, after school groups, camping and environmental education and child care.
Our commitment to camping dates to 1923 when Colorado Gamma Phi Betas saw a need to give underprivileged girls a summer experience in the mountains. The astounding social and physical benefits to the children, and the profound satisfaction the women received, started a growing tradition that continues today. By supporting Camp Fire USA, and local camps for children, we hold fast to our convictions from more than 85 years ago.
Gamma Phi Beta envisions a community in which every girl and woman has the resiliency necessary to advance her own life and the lives of others. Our philanthropic mission is to build social, emotional and spiritual resiliency in young women. Camping for girls, Gamma Phi Beta's unique philanthropy since 1929, has helped young women throughout the U.S. and Canada. Unlike many philanthropic causes that address a problem, camping for girls is a proactive means to prevent problems. The wholesome, nurturing experience of camping for girls can have a positive impact on lives during crucial, formative years. Chapters and members are encouraged to support camping for girls and our relationships with Camp Fire USA and Girl Guides of Canada.
